Technical Support Engineer

IXSEA is currently seeking motivated individuals to join our US team in the role of Technical Support Engineer.  Supporting IXSEA’s customers day to day from IXSEA INC’s HQ in Boston, MA or from our Service Center in Houston, TX, the successful candidate(s) will proactively solve problems, provide solutions and stand in the gap between the operations environment and IXSEA’s highly driven team of scientists, engineers and innovators.  The role will include on-site and offshore support as required and some international travel is anticipated.

Software Engineer position - Lynnwood, Washington location
Kongsberg Underwater Technology, Inc.

Kongsberg is a major supplier of advanced hydroacoustic systems and underwater instrumentation including:
Multibeam and single beam echo sounders
Autonomous underwater vehicles
Sub-bottom profilers and side scan sonars
Motion reference units and navigation systems

The engineering department is hiring a software engineer.

Primary responsibilities:

• Design, development, and test of software for GIS applications
• Participate in the creation of requirements, design, and software documentation
• Conduct proofing and testing in-situ
• Travel will be required

Requested qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field
• Good knowledge of object oriented analysis, design and programming
• Five years or more of experience programming in C, C++, and Java
• Background from both Windows and Linux (Unix) environments
• Experience with multi-platform frameworks (e.g. Qt)
• Experience in graphical user interface design and programming
• Experience in developing GIS applications
• Structured and organized
• Performs well in teams
• Hydrographic/oceanographic experience a plus
• US citizenship is required
• Ability to get government security clearance is required

Sales/Account Executive

Kongsberg Underwater Technology, Inc., is expanding USA operations.

We are a leading supplier of advanced hydroacoustic systems and underwater instrumentation including:

• Autonomous underwater vehicles
• Multibeam and single beam echo sounders
• Sub-bottom profilers and side scan sonars
• Motion reference units and navigation systems

Primary responsibilities: To create and develop business relationships with senior managers, technical supervisors and engineers by giving expert technical sales support and quotations on a wide range of Kongsberg's “Subsea” products and integrated systems. Significant domestic, some international travel and occasional work aboard offshore vessels is to be expected.

Qualifications: Strong technical background, capability to work independently in the field and directly with the customer. Degree in engineering, GIS, or marine science and/or technology or equivalent work experience is strongly desired.

Experience in the geophysical and/or hydrographic survey industries, preferably with knowledge of the Gulf of Mexico offshore marketplace.

Head office is located in Lynnwood, Washington. Position is located in Houston, Texas.
